The Wonder Hospital
I never cease to be amazed by the talent I'm surrounded with each and every day at CalArts. Last weekend, I was lucky enough to usher for the sold-out MFAs 2009 show at REDCAT in L.A. Among the many interesting films from last year's graduating class, BeomSik "Shimbe" Shim's The Wonder Hospital stood out in my mind. I've seen this innovative combination of CG, 16MM, and puppets twice now, and noticed even more new things the second time through. Fascinating, creepy, and pointed, I hope he gets the promised cut of this film up on the 'net soon. It'll be worth the wait.

Beastly Things
This is a teaser poster I've been working up for the "2-Headed Beast" concert event that's happening at the CalArts WildBeast pavilion in April. I drew and inked the beast on Bristol board with India Ink and a combination of sticks and brushes. It's nowhere near as messy as I'd like, as I have a tendency to get too precious with what I'm doing. Losing control is something I still have to work on.
Ask me for monsters, and that's what you'll get.

Guest Blog on The Mojo Wire: Top Ten Horror Films of the Decade
My friend Randall, a writer and fellow Bennington alum, is a darkly kindred spirit. He's been doing a run of lists on the Best Horror Movies of the Past Decade, and was kind enough to ask me to guest blog. Read all about what I thought, and what stuck with me, at The Mojo Wire.
